Older power stations have asbestos lagging to their steam lines, turbines, generators and the kilometres of pipework to be found in one of these stations.

This can be extremely dangerous for those working in and around these stations as many have open areas to the elements and if some of the casings over the pipe lagging break open they can spill out the asbestos lagging. It can be so bad that one power station worker we spoke to described it as a snowstorm!
