Most people seem unaware that as an asbestos cement roof ages and the surface starts to get weathered and deteriorates it is releasing asbestos fibre bundles. Millions of asbestos fibres are washed into the gutters during every rainfall. Not so much a problem if your gutters are in good condition and the drainpipes go into underground sewer systems. But what if the asbestos drains into yards or is re-directed to water the garden or fill rainwater tanks?
