Following on from recent work on investigating Asbestos in laboratory equipment. This is the first in a series of blogs on that topic.

In this blog we will look at asbestos insulated retort stand clamps. Not a big item but when you look at them and their usage you will see that they are handled and when being set up and in use could easily be within the respirable zone around the face. In an asbestos audit of a school last year we found two boxes of them still in daily usage by students along with back up spares and ones in use by science lab staff.
